About Toto
Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also acclaimed studio players working with Boz Scaggs) and singer/bassist Bobby Kimball. The name comes from the Latin word meaning "all encompassing," the group was determined to explore every musical style.
The third album from Toto, Turn Back, was a failure in 1981. However, they bounced back with their fourth album, Isolation, which contained two hit songs including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour makes them a household name throughout the globe.
After a brief hiatus, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. The album is a departure from the ballads that were featured on previous albums, and features some heavy rock. This album was their first to be certified platinum in North America.
When they record the band's fifth album the band loses their manager and are financially in trouble. They decide to change their name and create a new album with a new producer. Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, takes over Fergie Frederiksen as lead singer. Joseph is a more natural frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a much needed boost.
The band releases Mindfields in 1999 and embarks on a major tour across the globe. After several weeks in Europe the band travels to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief break, Toto resumes recording and goes on to record their first live album entitled Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes an original cover of Weezer's song Hash Pipe in response to the band covering their hit Africa during the recent tour. Toto's touring band is rounded out by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.

The first album of the totos was the self-titled Toto album, which came out in 1978. It was a huge hit that helped the band gain international fame. Since then, the band has released 14 albums that have all been huge hits.
Toto composed their first and only movie score in 1984 for the film Dune. It was a massive project that required the entire group to be involved. The album that came out, Kingdom of Desire, was another successful record. After 안전놀이터 추천 , drummer Bobby Kimball left the band and was replaced by drummer Fergie Frederiksen of Le Roux. The band pushed forward with their fifth album, Isolation. The album contained a variety of hits including "Stranger in Town".
After Isolation, Toto took a break from the spotlight and stepped back from the stage. This gave each member of the group the chance to explore their individual projects. In 1996, the band reformed to tour and make an album. 안전놀이터 추천 was the first time in over a decade that all of the original members were on stage.
The following year, Toto toured together with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band. This was the last time all of Toto's original members appeared on stage at once. The band broke up after this. However, Toto reunited in 2010 to benefit the ALS Foundation. It was the first time that all original Toto members appeared performing together for more than 31 years. The original members were joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.
Tours

The band suffered several setbacks throughout their final times, despite their fame. In 2002, keyboardist David Paich and drummer Greg Phillinganes were forced to take a medical leave of absence. Drummer Shem von Schroeck took over, but the band was not the same without Paich and Phillinganes. In 2008, a series of lineup changes and a series of disappointing albums led Toto to break up for a couple of years. However, the group resumed performing in 2012 following the release of their album 40 Trips Around the Sun.

The album marked a return to the band's best form and the tour that went with it featured sold-out shows in North America and Europe. Toto's reunion was made more exciting by the addition of guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist Shem von Schroeck, who both joined the group.
