Albums
Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985, singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through old demos and tapes to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well received by fans and the band went on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.

The album was released on November 6, 2018 and featured three new songs from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, plus recorded versions of four older tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also included the cover of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe" which the band decided to include after hearing a version on the radio.
