Albums
Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.
Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 as a result of the collaboration.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for lacking hit singles. In 1985 the lead singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group The group held auditions for the new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old demos and tapes to release a special edition called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto began a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
Shem Von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer during the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the United States. It was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group of six includes guitarist and vocalist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich as well as keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarist and vocalist Joseph Williams. The diverse range of influences in the group has made it one of the most well-known groups of all time. In 1983, the group released Toto IV, which earned an international praise. The band began the world to promote the album following its success. The tour was interrupted when Bobby Kimball, the lead vocalist, was arrested for drug charges. The band decided to let him go at the conclusion of the tour, and they hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams in his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the band following the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.
The TOTO Museum is a futuristic building that has several exhibition rooms that are dedicated to telling the story of the company and its most innovative products. The museum's exhibits include toilets and faucets as well as tableware that have contributed to the growth of TOTO over the past half century. The museum is home to special exhibits all year round.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has also released several compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the band is "Africa" which has over one billion views. The video is set in a library with the band performing atop a stack of African books.
The song "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe as well as other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their popularity, after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in the United States.
Toto embarked on a worldwide tour following the release of their album. The group featured tour musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. In addition guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985, Fergie Frederiksen, Toto's drummer, quit Toto due to personal reasons. The group held an audition to find a replacement for Frederiksen.
Prior to and during the creation of Toto its members, they did sessions for many artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto's formation. Keyboardist Paich was a regular on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto started working on the project titled Old Is New. This album included three new tracks as well as a number of finished recordings of songs from the past. The album was a hit across the globe and the band embarked on a tour around the world to promote it.

Toto is famous for their hit single "Africa", recently reunited to promote their new album, All In. The album came out on November 6, 2018 and featured three new songs from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, as well as completed recordings of four older tracks with Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also included an original cover version of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe," which they added after hearing it on the radio.
